Cocaine disguised as lollipops has been seized at Dublin Airport.
Five kilogrammes of the drug, disguised in bags of lollipops, were uncovered as part of an operation investigating international criminal organisations.
The cocaine was valued at 500,000 euro.
A man in his 60s was arrested, charged and brought before a court in Dublin on Friday.
A garda spokesperson said: “The illicit drugs were discovered when Revenue officers stopped and searched the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight that originated in Brazil and discovered the drugs concealed within bags of lollipops.”
The spokesperson added: “Investigations are ongoing.”
