Road to Edinburgh Airport closed in both directions following `serious´ crash

The road to Edinburgh Airport has been closed in both directions following a “serious” crash on Monday morning.

Police Scotland said the A8 is closed at Newbridge after a crash was reported at around 9.25am.

In an update at around 10am, Traffic Scotland said the road is closed in both directions between Newbridge Roundabout and Gogar due to a road traffic collision.

Traffic for the airport has been advised to use the M8 onto the Bypass and up to Gogar.

Emergency services remain in attendance and diversions are being put in place.

Motorists have been advised to use another route.

Posting about the crash on X, Edinburgh Airport said “delays getting to the airport are expected”.

Edinburgh Airport and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
