Man in serious condition after stabbing in Lurgan

A man is in a serious condition after a stabbing in Co Armagh.

Police have arrested another male on suspicion of attempted murder following the incident in Lurgan on Sunday.

A report was received at around 2.25pm about a man aged in his 40s who had sustained stab wounds to his back at a property in the Grattan Street area.

Officers attended, alongside colleagues from the Armed Response Unit (ARU).

The suspect, a 34-year-old man, made off from the scene and was detained a short distance away.

The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Officers remain at the scene as inquiries continue.
