Police are investigating a “targeted attack” that reportedly saw three men with weapons involved in the ramming of a car on a motorway in Glasgow.
Officers received reports of a silver Nissan Micra being deliberately struck by a dark blue Renault Clio off slip from the eastbound M74 at the junction with Polmadie Road.
Police Scotland said the incident happened at around 12.10am on Saturday.
After striking the car, the force said three men with weapons, who were travelling in the Clio, were reported to have approached the silver Nissan Micra before causing damage to the vehicle and fleeing the scene.
The Clio then reportedly followed the Micra, during which further deliberate collisions occurred on Polmadie Road and Aikenhead Road.
There were no reports of any injuries and inquiries are ongoing to trace the Clio and its occupants.
Detective inspector Stephen Greenshields urged witnesses to come forward.
He said: “We believe this was a targeted attack on the Micra driver and I’m appealing to the public for help to trace those responsible.
“I’m particularly keen to speak to drivers who were in the area around the time and may have seen what happened.
“I’d also ask those with dash-cam, private CCTV or doorbell footage around Polmadie Road and Aikenhead Road, to review this for anything which may assist our enquiries.”
