Andree Jeglertz challenged Manchester City to maintain an insatiable appetite for success after they sealed a maiden domestic double in his first season in charge.
Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and captain Alex Greenwood became the first pair of team-mates to score and assist in a Women’s FA Cup final this century as Women’s Super League champions City beat Brighton 4-0 at Wembley to lift the FA Cup for a fourth time.
Jamaica international Shaw opened the scoring in the 38th minute from Greenwood’s cross her first goal since announcing a four-year contract extension on Monday, on stage at City’s end-of-season celebrations.
Jeglertz said: “It was an amazing end of the season.
“It’s been a long year. Winning the WSL title was big for the club, but we’ve also talked about there’s one thing of being able to win the title, but also just a couple of weeks later being able to be a winning team that is also winning the next title, so keep on having this hunger and dedication to want something more, not be pleased.
“I think that will be a very important thing for us in the future, to not think that anything will be prevented. We need to keep on having this hunger for the next level.”
